It is named Napoleon because during the Peninsula War of 1807 1814 Hidalgo sold wine to Napoleon's French Army (though at the same time it also sold wine to the Duke of Wellington's army). Deep amber color with aromas and flavors of dried fruit, nuts, spice, honey and a slight saline mineral tinge.
